Douglas taking it easy at a Restaurant called 'Fish'

Out and about in Mazatlan

We love that we can take Douglas with us to almost every place we go!  He is so quiet and such a good boy, no one even knows he's there.

Drinks and Appetizers on our boat with Andy, Donna, Sandy and Joanne

We had our friends Donna, Sandy, Andy and Joanne over for a few drinks and appetizers on our boat on January 5th.  Donna and Sandy were due to return home (Vancouver, BC) on January 7th after a 10 week stay in the El Cid Hotel.  Andy and Joanne left for home on January 14th after an 8 week stay.  It's always sad to say goodbye but we look forward to seeing them again next season!

Day Trip to Deer Island

Kim's new Air Compressor is identical to this

On January 6th we took the boat over to Deer Island for a few hours.  Kim wanted to try out his new air compressor.  He did nearly a 2 hour dive to check the zincs and clean the bottom of the boat.  It was a beautiful day but there were some pretty nasty 4 foot rollers coming in so it was a bit uncomfortable.  Tina enjoyed some time on her inflatable paddle board and Luc tried out one of our inflatable kayaks.

We went to a new restaurant with friends, Marilyn and Gary, called 'Real Centenario'.This is how they helped me celebrate my Birthday.

We were invited to a delicious breakfast at Ron and Fran's house  located on the El Cid Golf Course.  We played "cheater's" Uno and had lots of laughs.

Family Visit

Amy, Jessica and Connor arrived on January 19th for a one week stay with us, then Jason arrived on January 22nd for a 10 day stay with us.  It was the first time their visits overlapped and we were able to spend time here in Mazatlan all together!

We kept very busy with trips to the beach, Stone Island, a beach party, and various restaurants.  We rented a car for the day and went to the village of El Quelite and Villa Union.  We also took a trip to the Los Osuna Blue Agave Distillery which is the base ingredient of tequila.

What's next?

We have plans to attend a Super Bowl Party and on February 14th, Kim and I will celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary.  We have reservations at a mexican restaurant and wine bar near the machado in the historical part of Mazatlan called 'Topolo' for our anniversary.  It is supposed to have excellent food and service so it should be a lovely experience.  Other than that we will continue to enjoy the sunshine, sandy beach, and wonderful friends we've made here.
